Do You Remember These Iconic or Weird Food Trends?


If you work in the food industry, one of the quickest ways to make a buck is to get a food to trend. Just last year, Starbucks came out with the Unicorn Frappuccino, which sent the whole world into a tizzy. The drink, which tasted to many, like a liquid version of cotton candy, only stuck around for a matter of days and had Starbucks employees complaining on social media about the process making the colorful, yet sticky drink. Starbucks, however, showed other companies the mastery of marketing and what it looked like to come up with a food trend overnight.

But the Unicorn Frappuccino is not the only food to have become a craze and quickly faded away into oblivion, as a matter of fact, each year food companies introduce many new items to see what will trend, Lays Potato Chips does this all the time to get new flavors. There are, however, some weird food trends that probably should never have been trending at all. How many of these do you remember?

Health nuts once believed that Wheatgrass Shots were the answer to everything and could cure any disease that entered the body, though this wasn't true and the craze died down, people still like to drink grass and believe in its health benefits true or not. Who doesn't love the way a glass of freshly blended grass tastes in the morning? Yum!
